He was born on
February 27 1913 inBieliny Kapitulne , at the foot of theLysa Gora mountain. Sabbat completed secondary school inMielec , and studied Law at theWarsaw University shortly before the World War II. He was a Scout, and remained dedicated to the concept ofScouting , even in his later life while in exile.War Time
After a short service in the
Navy he was directed to theMechanised Brigade ofStanisław Maczek . Wounded during the Polish retreat, he managed to reachGreat Britain where he was directed to theGeneral Staff as officer responsible for youth.Post war
After being discharged from the army in 1948, he started up his own business in England. He later worked for the Scouting Organization and the
Association of Polish Veterans on a gratuitous basis.As an executive of the National Union he managed the
Treasury Division , and later became thePresident of the Union of theGovernment of Poland in exile. He attempted to unite the various émigré circles. After the expiration of his term of office, he wanted to pass his responsibilities to a possible successor inPoland . He died inLondon , aged 76.ee also
