Dansklubben Marionetterna

Dansklubben Marionetterna, Marionette Danceclub. Founded in 1985 by parents in the residential area of Bäckby in Västerås. Members of Swedish Dancesport Federation DSF.

Dances

* Bugg - a swedish dance found mainly at social dances and on the competitive floor.
* Doublebugg - a swedish competitive dance, a trio (three person, often one man and two girls) perform a routine like a formation.
* Lindy Hop - The origin of swing dance, a dance from the 30s. Danced to swing music.
* Boogie-woogie (dance) - A development of Lindy Hop in the 50s resulted in the Boogie.
* Rock and Roll (dance) - A dance that mainly focuses on technique. Areials are mandatory in the higher classes.

History

Many great dancers have come from the small club in Västerås. Several of the founding members of the Swedish dance company Bounce originates from the club. The dancers of the club has won several Swedish- Nordic- European- and World Championshipmedals. Mostly known for their Lindy Hop skills.
