Josephine Maraia Adi Yalewarogo Raikuna Williams is a
Fiji an businesswoman and politician.She worked for 33 years in the
tourism industry, most recently as ahuman resources manager at the Fiji Mocambo Hotel. She is currently the Chairperson of St. Mary's Catholic Parish inNadi , Deputy Chairperson of the Catholic Education Board (Fiji), and a member of theSt Vincent de Paul Society . She is also a director of theNadi Women's Collective . She was a member of theNadi Hospital board of visitors for four years.Williams was appointed
Deputy Mayor ofNadi when she was elected to theNadi Town Council in 1993. She held that office till1999 when she became Mayor, serving until 2001. On27 June 2005 , United Peoples Party (UPP) leaderMick Beddoes announced that Williams would contest the2006 parliamentary election for the party.On
20 March 2006 ,Fiji Live reported that she would be the UPP candidate for the Nadi Open Constituency. In the election held from6 May -13 May , she received 389 votes, or 2.1 percent of the total.
