Klamath County School District

The Klamath County School District (KCSD) is a public school district providing public education to students in Klamath County, Oregon, United States, including the communities of Bly, Bonanza, Chiloquin, Gilchrist, Keno, Klamath Falls, Malin, and Merrill. As of June 2008, the school district had 6,657 students enrolled. The Board of Trustees appoint a superintendent who is in charge of the day-to-day operations of the school district. The current superintendent is Greg Thede. The board is made up of five people who are from five different zones within the county. The zones and board members as of June 2008 are: John Rademacher - Northwest Zone, Gary Weldon - Southern Zone, Lori Baley - Eastern Zone, Steve Lowell - Southern Overlap Zone, and Chris Volk - Northern Overlap Zone.

Schools

The KCSD currently has 14 elementary schools, a special education school, six middle schools, five comprehensive high schools, and Falcon Heights Academy (an alternative school).

In the KCSD, elementary schools typically include kindergarten through sixth grade, middle schools include seventh grade and eighth grade, and high schools include ninth grade through twelfth grade.
