The Timken Museum of Art is an art
museum located inBalboa Park inSan Diego ,California .The Timken, opened in 1965 and designed by architect Frank Hope, displays a significant collection of European old master
paintings ,sculptures , andtapestries . These holdings are supplemented by important collections of American painting and Russian icons. More specifically, the collection's holdings include works by American (Copley, West, Cole, Bierstadt), Italian (Savoldo, Veronese, Guercino), Spanish (Murillo), and French masters (Clouet, Claude, Boucher, Fragonard, David, Corot), but its most impressive group of works belongs to the Flemish and Dutch schools with individual masterpieces by the likes ofPieter Brueghel the Elder ,Peter Paul Rubens ,Anthony Van Dyck ,Frans Hals , andRembrandt van Rijn .External links
