Carl Louis Nippert (
October 11 1852 -September 5 1904 ) was a German engineer and politician, who served asLieutenant Governor of Ohio in 1902.Nippert studied engineering at the universities of
Karlsruhe , Germany, andZürich , Switzerland. After finishing his studies in 1874, he started working as an engineer inFrankfurt , Germany. In 1876 he migrated to the Unites States to work on the construction of the world fair inPhiladelphia .Nippert worked as a school teacher (1877-1889) and principal (since 1891) in
Cincinnati . During this time he advocated the German language. In 1891 he became alawyer . Eight years later he became a member of the senate ofOhio for the republican party, and in 1901 he became a judge on probation. In 1902 Nippert was Lieutenant Governor of Ohio.
