Farm Road 2004 starts out just north of Mall of the Mainland at the intersection of SH 3. The next intersection is FM 1764, where the two highways are concurrent to just after Interstate 45. While FM 1764 continues west, FM 2004 makes a south to southwesterly turn thorugh Hitchcock and later enters Brazoria County. The highway passes chemical plants and crosses a steep bridge over Chocolate Bayou, passing south of Liverpool and Danbury, north of the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge. The next town, 30 miles from Hitchcock, is Richwood, where FM 2004 skirts the northern edge of town. The next town on the route is Lake Jackson, where FM 2004 crosses under State Highway 288, passing just north of Brazos Mall. FM 2004 then crosses the Brazos River and intersects State Highway 36, just outside Jones Creek. Continuing past Highway 36 will take you onto FM 2611, which takes you to Matagorda County.
Jason Oliff Memorial Highway
Brazoria County Sheriff Deputy Jason Oliff was killed on December 5th, 2005 while placing flares in front of the Innovene Plant on FM 2004 just southwest of the FM 2917 intersection. In memory of Oliff, the stretch of FM 2004 from the Galveston County line to Highway 36 has been named in honor of him.
