La Victoria is a district of the Lima Province in Peru and one of the districts that comprises the city of Lima. One of the most populous in Lima.

La Victoria borders downtown Lima on the northwest, the district of Lince on the west, San Isidro on the southwest, San Borja on the south, San Luis on the east, and El Agustino on the northeast.

La Victoria has several sections:
*La Victoria proper extends from Avenida Grau in the north to Avenida Mexico in the south and from Paseo de la República Expressway in the west to Avenida San Pablo in the east. It is the most populous sector and it is filled with mom-and-pop stores, although Avenida Iquitos has a thriving auto parts sector. Gamarra Street is known in the entire city as a steady, if poor, clothier's row.
*Balconcillo, immediately south of Avenida Mexico running toward Avenida Canadá, is slightly more residential, although it has some industrial offices, such as the local Ajinomoto and Xerox licensee offices.

*Santa Catalina, running south from Avenida Canadá toward Avenida Javier Prado (marking the boundaries with San Isidro and San Borja districts) is the most residential and affluent section of all the district.
*The areas around Cerro (Mount) San Cosme and Cerro El Pino, two completely built-over hills in the northeastern section of the district, are sometimes counted as part of La Victoria proper, but they follow street layouts of their own. This sector is known as La Parada, from the nickname of well-known wholesale produce market there, as well as several informal company bus terminals located there. La Victoria is home of one of Peru's most popular soccer teams: Alianza Lima. The Alejandro Villanueva Stadium, homefield for Alianza Lima, is located near the Matute housing project in the southern part of La Victoria proper. La Victoria is full of history, located in the heart of Lima.

La Victoria is, however, one of the most dangerous places in Peru, plagued by crime. The safest time to go there is when the team Alianza Lima plays against a minor team from outside of Lima, and even then, it's strongly advised by all tourist bureaus to stay well clear of the neighbourhood. The only safe way to go there is if you live there or if you walk with someone who lives there. The neighbourhoods Mendozita, Tacora, La Parada and Cerro San Cosme and Cerro El Pino especially are very dangerous; even the police refuse to enter these neighbourhoods.Gang violence, prostitution, drug trafficking and gunfights are very common in La Victoria.
