Austrian Football Bundesliga 2008–09

The Austrian Football Bundesliga 2008-09 is the 97th season of top-level league football in Austria. The competition is officially called "tipp3-Bundesliga powered by T-Mobile", named after Austrian betting company tipp3 and the Austrian branch of German mobile phone company T-Mobile.

The Austrian champions qualify for UEFA Champions League 2009-10 qualification. The second and third placed teams qualify for UEFA Europa League 2009-10 qualification. The 10th placed team is relegated to the First League. The First League champion is promoted to the Bundesliga.

Every team plays each other four times, twice at home and twice on the road. The season started on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 with Sturm Graz beating Rapid Vienna, 3-1. Between December 13, 2008 and February 21, 2009, no matches will be played (winter break). The 36th and last round of matches takes place on Saturday, May 30, 2009.
