The Dream of a Summer Day

The Dream of a Summer Day

"The Dream of a Summer Day" was a play that was shown at select locations around Ireland in March, April and May of 2005.

It dealt with the life and some of the writings of Lafcadio Hearn, from his father Charles Hearn's arrival in Greece, right up to his death and Buddhist funeral in Japan. Weaved into it were dramatisations of four of the "kwaidan" (ghost stories) he either wrote or translated while in Japan.
