Susan Easton Black

Susan Easton Black is a professor of Church History and Doctrine at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah. She is also an author of several books related to Joseph Smith, Jr. and the early history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Black joined the faculty of BYU in 1978. Black received the Karl G. Maeser Distinguished Faculty Award in 2000. She is married to Harvey B. Black, who is an emeritus professor of Instructional Psychology and Technology at BYU. She also served as an associate dean of General Education of Honors. Susan Easton Black holds an Ed. D. from BYU.
