Hunting plc (lse|HTG) is a leading British-based supplier to the oil and gas industry. Some 27% of the business is owned by the Hunting family. History

The business was founded by Charles Hunting in 1874 as a shipping business. In the 1890's the Company invested in oil tankers and became a tanker broker. In the 1930's it diversified into aircraft manufacturing and in the 1990's it became involved in defence contracts winning notably, in 1993, the contract to manage the Atomic Weapons Establishment. Operations

The business is organised into two entities:
* Hunting Energy - well construction & completion and supply of oil platform accessories
* Hunting Gibson - transport and marketing of crude oil in Canada
