The Moneytree (film)

The Moneytree (film)

The Moneytree is an independent film that had a theatrical release in 1992 in the USA. It received favorable reviews in several respected publications such as the Los Angeles Times and the San Francisco Chronicle. Mick LaSalle of the San Francisco Chronicle highlighted one of the performances as a best of the year in his year end wrap-up.

The plot follows David, a marijuana grower in Marin County, California, who sees himself as a regular farmer who works hard for a living. But he has a friend who thinks he is avoiding his real dreams and a girlfriend who wants him out of the business.

There is no writer credited because, although the actors were given a story line, all the dialogue is improvised.

The film's ending leaves one wondering if the film is more of a documentary then is implied.

The film is being re-released with new edits and sound mix.
