Bone marrow derived macrophage

Bone marrow derived macrophage

Bone marrow derived macrophage (BMDM) refers to a white blood cell that is generated in a research laboratory from mammalian bone marrow. Undifferentiated bone marrow cells are cultured in granulocyte-monocyte colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) for at least five to seven days. GM-CSF is a cytokine that directs cell differentiation. These cells are often used in immunology and cell biology research.
