Fresnel lens . The lens was removed in 1969 and replaced with a pair ofaerobeacon s, which are still used today. The original lens is now on display in the [http://www.inlandseas.org/ Inland Seas Maritime Museum] .Nowadays, the lighthouse is still used as an active aid to navigation, as well as being a
museum and abed and breakfast . The museum and bed and breakfast are operated by theLake County Historical Society and the lantern is maintained by theUnited States Coast Guard . The lighthouse is listed on theNational Register of Historic Places .References
