Brown Mackie College – Tucson in Tucson, Arizona, is a member of the Brown Mackie College system of schools, a collection of private, for-profit educational institutions for career preparation in the business, legal, health sciences, information technology, and creative fields. The Brown Mackie College system of schools has 20 locations throughout the United States, and has a total enrollment of 9,078 students (as of fall 2006). The Brown Mackie College schools are owned by Education Management Corporation, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Brown Mackie College schools provide bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, diploma, and certificate programs.

History

Brown Mackie College — Tucson was founded in 1972 as Chaparral College, a career college focusing on programs in secretarial sciences as well as accounting and marketing. In 1994, the College began awarding associate’s degrees. Then two years later, to meet a growing demand, the College began offering bachelor’s degrees.

Brown Mackie College — South Bend is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award bachelor's degrees, associate’s degrees and certificates. ACICS is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
