History

Brown Mackie College — North Canton has a history in electronics and technical education that dates back more than 20 years. The school opened its doors in 1984 as the National Electronics Institute (NEI), offering programs in Electronics Technology and Electronics Servicing.

In June 2002, the College came under the ownership of Southern Ohio College LLC, and the name of the College was changed to AEC Southern Ohio College. In September 2003, the College came under the ownership of Education Management Corporation, and in November 2004, the College was renamed Brown Mackie College — North Canton.
