Thomas Scoville

Thomas Scoville (b. California 1960). American humorist, technologist and author best known for chronicling the rise and fall of Silicon Valley during the dot-com boom.
Two major works render an insider's perspective on life in technology startups: The Silicon Valley Tarot published in 1998 (described as a" "simultaneous satire on the New Economy and The Occult") and "Silicon Follies", an online serial novel running on Salon.com in 1999, eventually finding its way to hardcover publication by Pocket Books and a television pilot by Ron Howard's Imagine Television. Scoville also wrote a number of popular technology essays including "Howl.com (with apologies to Allen Ginsberg)" and "The Elements Of Style: Unix As Literature".
