Ghanashyam Hemalata Institute of Technology and Management,Puri is located on Puri Konark highway(popularly known as Marine Drive)approximately 15 km from city of Puri. The Institute campus is spread over approximately 152 acres of picturesque land at Rasnanda Jena Vihar.

The Institute is duly recognized by Govt. Of India, approved by AICTE and affiliated to Biju Patnaik Technical University.

GHITM is run by GHVM Society (Ghanashyam Hemalata Vidyamandir Society).This is Society run by the working class or majdoor union (Food Corporation of India (FCI)). Sj G.S.Jena is the Founder Chairman of FCI Workers Co-op & Ghanashyam Hemalata Vidyamandir Society. The motto behind GHVM was to increase literacy and bringing prosperity to the working class by educating the children of the working .It started with a residential school at Puri, now the society boasts of the ownership of chain of schools and the technical institute GHITM.All the Institutions are financed & patronized by the workers belonging to the various unions of FCI .The labourers of FCI from all over India joined ther hands for the cause and have donated there hard earned money to bring up this dream college.GHITM provides special scholarships and subsides for children of FCI employees to encourage them and lead them towards literacy.
