Kenan Eyup Sahin is a Turkish scientist and entrepreneur in the
United States .After graduating from
Robert College ofIstanbul , he received both hisS.B. (1963) andPh.D. degrees (1969) from theMIT Sloan School of Management and then taught on the faculties of theMassachusetts Institute of Technology ,Harvard University , and theUniversity of Massachusetts Amherst .In 1982, Sahin founded Kenan Systems, a company that grew to employ more than 800 people by 1999. In 1999 Kenan Systems was acquired by
Lucent Technologies for $1.48 billion [http://www.kband.com/corporate/corporate.pl?id=193&table=company] . He then became President of Lucent's Software Products Group and Vice President of Software Technology atBell Labs . In 2002, he took over the Technology & Innovation business ofArthur D.
