Martine van den Toorn-van Dam

Martine van den Toorn-van Dam (born Martine van Dam on May 5, 1941) is a Dutch writer and activist. She has been a convinced vegetarian since the age of fourteen and has written several books on the subject.[1]

She is best known for her 1970 book The truth about vegetarianism (Dutch:De waarheid over het vegetarisme). Other publications include the 1971 book Famous vegetarians and what they said (Dutch:Beroemde vegetariërs en hun uitspraken) and What recovery methods do we choose (Dutch: Welke geneeswijze kiezen wij), a criticism of the pharmaceutical industry.[1] In 1981 she published another book vegetarianism, called Love for All that Lives: History and Aspects of Vegetarianism. (Dutch:Liefde Voor Al Wat Leeft: Geschiedenis En Aspecten Van Het Vegetarisme) [2]
