Andrew "Andy" Barr (born
21 June ,1979 inBirmingham ) is a former professional footballer, who was most recently the HeadPhysiotherapist atBolton Wanderers .His career as a young football player with
Luton Town was cut short by injury and this lead to him studying for a Bachelors Degree in Physiotherapy whilst playing non-league football for the likes ofWarrington Town ,Vauxhall Motors F.C. ,Caernarfon Town and Altrincham.In
2001 he began his first spell at Bolton as the Assistant Physiotherapist, holding particular responsibility over the clubs youth players and he proved to be an integral part of the Sport Science network which the club's former managerSam Allardyce was keen to implement at theReebok Stadium .The departure of long serving physiotherapist Faz Page in October 2004 gave Barr more responsibility over the senior players, but in the summer of
2006 he was to take up a more senior role with Southampton as the Saints looked to recruit a new Head of Sport Science.Returning to Bolton under new manager
Gary Megson in late 2007, Barr was the head of a physiotherapy team which included Steve Foster and the one timeManchester City midfielderPaul Lake .In the summer of 2008 he was replaced by
