Alfred Zamara (1863 – 1940) was an
Austria ncomposer andharp ist.He was the son of
Antonio Zamara (born 1823/1829/1831/1835-died 1901) and was born inVienna . Like his father, became professor of harp at the Vienna Conservatory and solo harpist at theVienna Hofoper . He and his sister, Theresa, were both taught the harp by their father. Alfred Zamara wrote many salon pieces, made transcriptions for the harp, and editedFrançois Joseph Naderman 's "Sieben Etuden "; among his pupils wasJoseph E. Schuëcker (1886-1938) from 1900-01. He collaborated withViktor Léon to produce the opera "Der Doppelgänger" which was produced at theTheater am Gärtnerplatz inMunich in September 1886.References
