Growing up in the
Los Angeles ,California suburb ofToluca Lake , Brett R. Henry attendedNorth Hollywood High School . It was while on that school’s yearbook staff that he first learned the fundamentals of 35mm photography under the tutelage of faculty advisor Connie LaFace, with whom he maintains a close friendship to this day. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio-Television Broadcasting / Mass Media Studies atCalifornia State University, Northridge .Henry’s visual style of photography is influenced by both his professional background in public relations and the many years that he spent working in the film and television broadcasting industries, first at
Universal Studios , and then for many years with theAmerican Broadcasting Company . “Sitting in a broadcast control room with (director) Marty Pasetta, or being on the set with (cinematographer ) Ted Voightlander was like attending a master class on how to view our world.”In addition to his assignment work, Henry has also held staff positions with the
