E. G. Paley was an architect who worked in Lancaster, Lancashire, England, in the 19th century. His full name was Edward Graham Paley and in 1845 he joined Edmund Sharpe as a partner in his practice. Sharpe left the practice in 1851 and Paley continued to work without a partner until he was joined in 1868 by Herbert Austin. In 1886 Paley's son Henry joined the practice. Edward Paley died in 1895. [Pollard and Pevsner, p. 91.] This list includes most of the major works designed by Edward Paley during the years he was working alone.
Most of the work carried out by the practice was in designing new churches or making additions to older churches. Being based in the northwest of England, most of the work done was in that area, particularly in what are now the counties of Lancashire and Cumbria, although some work was carried out elsewhere in the country. The list includes most of his major works when he was working without partners.
