Percy Exham (
June 26 ,1859 —October 7 ,1922 ) was an Irishcricket er and schoolmaster. He was a right-handed batsman who played for Derbyshire. He was born inCork and died inRepton wher he taught at the school for 36 years.Exham was at educated
Repton School andSt. John's College, Cambridge . At Repton he was a member of the cricketing XI in 1877 and 1878, and also played for his college's Cricketing XI between 1880 and 1881. Exham made five appearances forCambridge University Cricket Club , and, in 1883, made his first and only County Championship appearance for Derbyshire against Yorkshire. The following year, Exham appeared for the Gentlemen of Derbyshire against the Gentlemen of Philadelphia, though this would be his final cricketing appearance. Exham also played football as left-half forDerby County in their firstF.A. Cup tie - a home game againstWalsall Town on 8 November 1884 which Derby lost 7-0.Exham returned to Repton School to teach and stayed for 36 years. He was Housemaster of the Orchard until 1919 and taught mathematics, being known to the boys as 'Pat'.
