Kankuro Kisato (鬼佐藤 官九郎 "Kisato Kankurō") (born March 16, 1986), better known as his ring name The Executioner and EXE, is a Japanese professional wrestler, not to be mistaken with the several masked wrestlers of the same name in various US promotions.

Career

Kisato has attended few training sessions in Ultimo Dragon's Toryumon Gym, though he never graduated.

Later he relocated into independent Yokohama-based promotions, where he competed through 2004 and 2005 by using his real name (written as 鬼佐藤 官黒, with the character for "black" in his name) and as a heel. He had the gimmick of a black metal enthusiast, using instrumental versions of popular black metal songs as entrance themes and sporting according sleeveless band t-shirts.

In March 2006, after losing a Mask vs. Career match, he claimed disinterest in his wrestling career, declaring he would be going to Norway to pursue his dream of becoming an acknowledged drummer. He actually went on a six-months hiatus to attend physiotherapy on both his LCLs.

Upon his return, in October, he debuted his masked "The Executioner" character. In this new incarnation, Kisato sports a white mask with a blockfont red question mark, custom sleeveless shirts depicting torturing machinery, and black pants. He continued to fight as a mostly comedic heel. In his promos, he claimed having the strongest forehead ever, and was subsequently involved in several "trials" to test his resistance. Many of his matches included bumps where he took chair shots or other foreign objects straight on his forehead and ignoring the resulting damage.

As of late 2007, he started using the name EXE while using the Executioner persona. The letters EXE are now on all his shirts and tights, and he screams them in a typical black metal-fashioned scream as a chant to announce a finishing move.

* Kisato is left-handed, and uses his left hand to perform and support many moves and locks (as headlocks, half nelsons, etc.)
* Kisato's "The Executioner" mask concept was thought as being originated from Mr.X, a character of manga and anime Tiger Mask. Kisato stated he took it from the Final Fantasy VIII hentai dōjinshi "Human High-lightFilm β".
