Tichina Arnold (born June 28, 1970) is an American actress best known for her role as Pamela James in "Martin", as well as her current role as the matriarch, Rochelle, in "Everybody Hates Chris". She also played the recurring role of Nicole Barnes on the television series "One on One".

Her other television credits include "Listen Up", "Soul Food", "The Norm Show", "Pacific Blue", "The Jamie Foxx Show", "All My Children", "Law & Order", "The Cosby Show" and "Ryan's Hope".

Biography

Tichina Arnold was born in Queens, New York on June 28. . Arnold has a daughter, Alijah Kai, with husband Carvin Haggins.

Career

Dedicated film buffs will remember Tichina Arnold as Crystal, one of the three black girls who perform R&&amp,B numbers as a Greek chorus, in Frank Oz's imaginative movie musical "Little Shop of Horrors" in 1986. Arnold was only 15 at the time, and her career continued steadily after that, with a role or two almost every year, although some of her cinematic efforts, such as "How I Got into College" and the Paul Mazursky/Woody Allen collaboration "Scenes From A Mall" (1990) were typically disappointing. Arnold played her role as Pamela James on Martin Lawrences sitcom called "Martin" (1992-1997). She also played the role of Nicole Barnes on the sitcom "One on One". In 2000, she was reunited with Martin Lawrence in a comedy film called Big Momma's House. Arnold currently plays the role of Rochelle on the sitcom "Everybody Hates Chris" which premiered in 2005. In 2007, she again reunited with Lawnrence (this time as his "straight man" wife) in the big screen road comedy/buddy film "Wild Hogs". In 2003, she was in the comedy/girl film, called "Civil Brand". ["Nathan Southern" "All Movie Guide"] More recently, in a departure from her normally comedic casting, she played the title role in "The Lena Baker Story", which was about the first woman to be executed by the electric chair in Georgia.
