Trussville, Alabama ) is an Americanplaywright . She attendedMiddlebury College , graduated fromBirmingham-Southern College and earned a Master of Fine Arts from the Iowa Playwrights Workshop at theUniversity of Iowa . She currently lives in Chicago and serves on the board of theDramatists Guild of America [http://www.dramatistsguild.com/about.aspx] .Gilman was the first American playwright to win an
