Springburn Museum

Springburn Museum

Springburn Museum was set up in the reading room of the Springburn Library, Glasgow, Scotland, in the mid 1980s. It continued to provide a community based resource for historical reference throughout the 1990s. It closed in 2003, and exists primarily an online entity. A room has been earmarked for items from the Springburn collection to be displayed within the Leisure Centre (entrance in Kay Street). However this was still 'under consuruction' as at April 2008 with only a locomotive mounted within a glass case on display. Leisure centre staff were unable to advise when the Museum would be formally reopened.
