Charles Robert Claxton (1903 - 1992) was the fourth Suffragan Bishop of Warrington [

Born on16 November 1903 and educated atQueens' College, Cambridge [“Who was Who” 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 071363457X] , he wasordained in 1928 and began his career with London Curacies before becomingVicar of Holy Trinity Bristol in 1933. From there he rose rapidly being successivelyChaplain to theBishop of Bristol ,Suffragan Bishop of Warrington and finally diocesan bishop of Blackburn. During his long retirement he was an honoraryAssistant Bishop in theDiocese of Exeter and died on7 March 1992 .Notes
