Phaeax (mythology)

Phaeax (Greek: polytonic|Φαίαξ), in Greek mythology, was a son of Poseidon and Cercyra, from whom the Phaeacians derived their name. (Diod. iv. 72 ; Steph. Byz. "s. v." polytonic|Φαίαξ) Conon ("Narrat." 3) calls him the father of Alcinous and Locrus.
