Reinout Oerlemans (born June 10, 1971) is a Dutch soap opera actor, television presenter and television producer. He is the founder of the tv production company Eyeworks.

Personal life

Reinout Oerlemans was born on June 10, 1971 in Mill in the Netherlands.

Oerlemans has together with his partner, Daniëlle Overgaag, three children: son Thijmen James (2001), daughter Fiene Joan (2004) and son Benjamin Jack (2006). Television career

BACKROUND

Founder and CEO of Eyeworks, Reinout Oerlemans (1971) was a leading actor in the first primetime Dutch soap opera “Goede tijden, slechte tijden (Good Times, Bad Times”). After its premiere in 1990, the show became a huge phenomenon in the Netherlands.Six years later, Reinout left “GTST” and started a career as a television host. He presented “Wedden dat? (Wanna bet),“ a national version of the well known German format “Wetten das?” In 2003 and 2004 he hosted the first two seasons of “Idols,” the Dutch version of the hit series “American Idol.” The finale of “Idols” first series is still one of the “Top 3 most watched entertainment shows” in the Netherlands. In addition to “Idols,” Reinout hosted “The 10,” a very successful Eyeworks entertainment program that still remains one of the best scoring shows in Germany, as well as his own talk show, “Pulse.” In 2004, Reinout won the “Zilveren Televizierster,” a national prize for the male personality of the year.

EYEWORKS

Presently, Reinout resides as the CEO of Eyeworks, the production company he founded in 2001. Eyeworks is an independent creative, and all round television production company that develops, produces and distributes television programs internationally in different genres including sports, fiction and entertainment. Since its inception, Eyeworks has rapidly become one of the leading television producers in the Netherlands and is the third largest independent production company in the world. In 2002 the company was named “Media Company of the Year” in the Netherlands. Currently, “The Biggest Loser,” “Test the Nation,” “Beat the Blondes,” “Ticket to the Tribes,” “The Chair,” “Beauty and the Geek,” “The 10,” “So You Wanna be a Popstar,” “Opportunity Knocks,” “The Italian Dream” and “CQC” (“Caiga Quien Caiga”) are just a few of the formats that Eyeworks is producing around the world.The headquarters of the company are based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Eyeworks currently has a production presence in 14 countries on 4 different continents: the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, the UK, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, New Zealand, Australia and the US. Television formats of Eyeworks are broadcast in more than 50 countries worldwide.In addition to television, the company is also highly active in the feature film business and in fiction. The Eyeworks movie catalogue includes Oscar winner “Antonia’s line” and People’s choice award nominee “Ben X”. The Eyeworks police series “Flikken (Cops)” is one of the highest rated TV series, with over 100 episodes aired in the Benelux.

Eyeworks Sport produces major sport events for multiple broadcasters in the Netherlands, including the football matches for the Dutch Premier League and the National Team. In 2008, Reinout moved to Los Angeles to be closer to the focal point of international broadcasters and producers. Together with CFO Mark Lazar, he created a permanent board presence in the US. With JD Roth and Todd Nelson, the CEOs of 3Ball Productions, Eyeworks’ company in the US, they will be focussing on creating and developing new programs and bringing worldwide successful formats to the US.
