"Scrolls of the Megilloth" is a single from the album of the same name; "Scrolls of the Megilloth".

Overview

Written by bassist-vocalist Steve Rowe, the song begins with a one minute organ intro that progresses into a haunting, horrific melody. Then the chaotic death-grind output turns in with its fast blast beat drumming and grinding guitars.

The song title "Scrolls of the Megilloth" is a term in the Old Testament that refers to five books: Ruth, Esther, Song of Solomon, Lamentations and Ecclesiastes. The song deals with the purposes of these books. According to the album liner notes, Steve Rowe studied at a Bible college a year before the album was recorded and he learned that these books were read at feasts and celebrations of significant Jewish dates. Rowe writes: "When we read 2 Timothy 3:16 we realised that all scriptures are there for a purpose and should all be studied to guide us." [Rowe, Steve. Scrolls of the Megilloth album booklet 2005 reissue. Soundmass. retrieved 2007-12-19]

A musicvideo was shot for the song and the video was published on Live Planetarium VHS in 1993 and DVD re-issue in 2007. The video itself is black and white and was filmed at a desert location.
