Woods Bay is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lake County, Montana, United States. The population was 748 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Woods Bay is located at coor dms|48|0|24|N|114|3|47|W|city (48.006749, -114.063121).GR|1

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.5 km²), of which, 1.3 square miles (3.5 km²) of it is land and 0.74% is water.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 748 people, 325 households, and 222 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 557.4 people per square mile (215.5/km²). There were 434 housing units at an average density of 323.4/sq mi (125.1/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.59% White, 0.13% African American, 0.40% Native American, 0.40% Asian, 1.74% from other races, and 1.74% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.21% of the population.

There were 325 households out of which 25.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.4% were married couples living together, 5.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.4% were non-families. 26.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.30 and the average family size was 2.78.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 22.3% under the age of 18, 5.6% from 18 to 24, 23.1% from 25 to 44, 31.4% from 45 to 64, and 17.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 102.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.6 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $31,000, and the median income for a family was $40,273. Males had a median income of $35,769 versus $18,750 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $15,792. About 12.8% of families and 19.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 22.3% of those under age 18 and 4.8% of those age 65 or over.
