Character history

Alice was a high school girl with no problems until Steven Frame came around. She liked him from the start. Alice and Steve soon decided to get married. When Rachel revealed she was carrying Steven's child, Alice broke the engagement. In 1970 Alice moved to France. Alice never stopped loving Steve.

In 1971 Alice returned to Bay City and finally married Steve. Shortly after Alice was pregnant. When Steven went to see Rachel, Alice fell off a ladder and lost her child. Rachel's dad, Gerald was going to impersonate Steve and have her meet him, as Steve, there. But she overheard it and fled to New York. In New York she tried to start a new life. She called herself Alice Tabolt and was the nurse for Dennis Carington, who had just separated from his wife, Iris. Dennis liked Alice and Alice and Elliot liked each other. Alice, Elliot and Dennis were planning a trip to St. Croix and Iris told Steve this. When he went to Alice she did not answer him. They finally fell in love again and remarried. Tim McGowen convinced her to sign over Steve's power of attorney to him as well as a stock transfer. With Steve in prison, Alice had a mental breakdown so Liz moved in with her. They didn't suspect though that Tim was robbing them both. Alice was finally put into a sanitarium. With Liz's help they got Tim's attorney powers revoked because of Alice's health. Steve finally caught Tim embezzling Steve's money.

Alice recovered and went home. She then found out she could never conceive another child. Rachel confronted her, after seeing her file, about her not being able to conceive a child again. When Rachel pursued Steve, Alice though she was alone, but when Rachel told Steve her secret he wanted Alice back. Steve did not care about her not having children. They reconciled and went off to St. Croix. Alice was happy when Willis Frame, Steve's brother, came to town. Alice returned to nursing. There, she met a 10 year old girl, Sally Spencer, and wanted to adopt her. When Steve was flying to Australia, his plane crashed and he was dead. Alice adopted Sally and fought her parents for custody. Willis loved Alice, for her money and power.

Alice was finally head of Frame Enterprises and Willis was not happy. Beatrice was still mad she didn't win Sally so she kidnapped her and had Alice worried, but Sally called her adopted mother and tell her where she was. Alice eventually married Ray because she had given up hope that Steve was alive. Ray changed Frame Enterprises to Gordon Enterprises. She thought the marriage was a mistake. Alice helped Sharlene Frame when Russ Matthews threw her out after discovering her prostitute past. When Dan Shearer came to town they were close friends. Dan was free of Susan and him and Alice became intimate. When Olive heard the news she was going to kill Alice in a fire. John saved her but was killed in the process and then she broke it off with Dan. Alice left Sally with Liz and left for a nursing position in Chicago.

In 1981 Alice returned home and became a private nurse. Eventually Alice and Mac were engaged to be married. Alice broke her engagement to Mac because Steven Frame was alive and she wanted to marry him. Steve broke the engagement when she didn't support Diana's welfare. Finally Steve and Alice reconciled once again. On the eve of their wedding Steve and Rachel got trapped under some beams and he admitted his love for her. Alice broke it off with him. She finally earned a medical degree after Steve died. Alice did not like it when Sally and David were to be married. When David was killed at the wedding Alice thought Dr. Royal Dunning was responsible, but he committed suicide. She got together with Mark Singleton and later broke it off and accepted a position in Washington, D.C.
