Greenwood Train Station is a Transperth train station 17.8km from Perth Train Station, in Western Australia. It is on the "Joondalup Line".

History

Originally proposed as the Hepburn Railway Station under the Northern Suburbs Railway Masterplan in 1989 to coincide with the Hepburn Heights development. The master plan placed the station as a 'future station' until demand of the railway and suburbs warranted the construction of the station. After being promised in 1993, 1996, 1998 and 2000 by the Richard Court government, construction began in 2004. The station was opened 29 January, 2005 by the Geoff Gallop's Labor government, Greenwood Train Station was built to reduce peak demand at the nearby Warwick and Whitfords stations.

Platforms

Greenwood Train Station is a split platform station, making it the only station on the Joondalup Line that is not an island platform. This is due to reserve constraints caused by the Mitchell Freeway.
