Tattingstone

Tattingstone

Tattingstone is a village in Babergh district in Suffolk, about 6 miles south of Ipswich. It is the location of Tattingstone Place and also of the folly known as the Tattingstone Wonder. The name Silly Suffolk which has oppressed the county for years is claimed by Suffolk people to be a linguistic corruption of Selig Suffolk, Selig being the German word for fortunate or blessed.
