Goldfields Giants

Goldfields Giants

.

Since debuting in the League in 1990, the Giants have reached five SBL Grand Finals culminating in back-to-back championships in 2007 and 2008. Previously they were runners-up in 1995, 2004 and 2006.

The 2008 SBL season saw 14 teams compete in the League, with a new club, the Kalamunda Eastern Suns, making their SBL debut. The League season began in March and culminated with the SBL championship game (the 'Grand Final') played in early September. The Giants are one of four clubs from West Australian regional cities (along with the Bunbury Slammers, Geraldton Buccaneers and Mandurah Magic) while ten teams are based within the Perth metropolitan area.
