"Flower" is a song by American singer-songwriter Liz Phair from her 1993 debut album "Exile in Guyville". The song first appeared on one of her "Girly Sound" tapes. The song was later covered by Pansy Division on their 1995 album Pile Up.

Lyrics

The song is infamous for its blatantly sexual lyrics. One that is often cited as an example is the passage, "I want to be your blowjob queen."Other notable lyrics are "I want to fuck you like a dog" and "I'll fuck you till your dick is blue." One line that causes confusion is "Hair's too long and in your eyes/ Your lips a perfect suck me size." It is unclear whether Phair is saying "your lips" or "your tip's." Because there are no printed lyrics included with the album, one must rely on the commonly accepted answer of "your lips." This is supported by the content of this verse, in which Phair describes the man's face. Others believe the lyric to be "Your dick's a perfect 'suck me' size"

Music

Like many of the tracks on "Guyville", "Flower" features only Phair and her guitar. However, the guitar has been distorted to sound somewhat like a wind instrument. In addition, there are two contrasting vocal tracks running side by side. On one, Phair sings in a low, disinterested monotone. Meanwhile, in a falsetto, she repeats, "Every time I see your face/ I get all wet between my legs/ Every time you pass me by/ I heave a sigh of pain."
