Anthony Peridis (born 14 June 1979) is an
Australia n television presenter, with the Sydney Weekender program on the Seven Network.It was a return back to the network for Anthony in early March 2008, after being a major part of the
SBS Sport team. He was formerley atChannel Seven , where he was a Sports Reporter on Sunrise.Anthony has covered some of the biggest events in Australian sports, but claims
football (soccer) andcricket top his list of favourite sports. His sporting highlights include the Socceroos journey at the 2006 World Cup, The qualification match against Uruguay, Australia's 3 successive World Cup cricket victories, The five nil Ashes thumping of England, Kieren Perkins 1500 metres victory in Atlanta and the 4x100 metres freestyle Men's relay at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.A keen sportsman himself, he is currently involved in the Cronulla Seagulls football club and North Cronulla Surf lifesaving club.
A career in sports journalism became obvious when still at school at
The Scots College in Sydney. Anthony completed a Diploma in Journalism at the Macleay College in 1998. Despite being born and raised in Sydney, his break came in the form of a 2 hour sport show in Brisbane in 1999.Anthony reported on SBS's coverage of the FIFA Women's World Cup from China in September 2007.
