Agapio Racing Team

Agapio Racing Team (also known as "Nordic Agapio") was an infamous Finnish dubbing company that dubbed a number of cartoons for VHS release and Finnish television on MTV3 and Nelonen. They also did regular dubbing of many cartoon releases by Future Films. The company became notorious for their lack of emotional content, even more so than Golden Voice. This would eventually lead to the company's disassembling in the early 2000s after their last dubbing effort, Digimon (its dubbing was taken over by "Tuotantotalo Werne", but starting from third season onwards the show has been seen in original language form, with subtitles).

Points of criticism

Just as Golden Voice before it, Agapio received heavy criticism for the over-all quality of the voice acting which many perceived as lacking feeling. Many cite their last notable dub Digimon as being the prime-example, especially situations that called for the main characters to scream (such when falling from cliff) or laughing.

Also a number of unpopular dubbing decisions may also be blamed for the company's lack of popularity such the rerecording of cartoon theme-songs for Flipper & Lopaka and Digimon as well as the musical sections of the Casper cartoon, segments which were typically left undubbed by other companies.

Overall the negative publicity was too much for the company, especially dealing with commercially significant shows such as Digimon, and eventually lead to the company's downfall.

"My Little Pony" had previously been dubbed by "Golden Voice".

The themesongs of "Flipper & Lopaka", "Calimero" and "Digimon" were both re-recorded for the Finnish version and noted for featuring low-level singing by the voice-crew.
