David Henderson (broadcaster)

David Henderson (born 1970) is a news reporter and presenter with BBC Scotland news.

In the absence of the regular news anchors, he has presented the evening news show Reporting Scotland[1], Good Morning Scotland,Newsnight Scotland, The Politics Show Scotland, Holyrood Live, Newsdrive and Scotland at 10. He has acted as BBC Scotland’s Health Correspondent. Henderson has also acted as a commentator on BBC Radio Scotland’s coverage of Scottish international cricket matches.

Henderson graduated law at Aberdeen University with a 2:1 Honours Degree, and a Diploma in Legal Practice. He also studied at Palermo University, Italy, under the Erasmus scheme. His Honours dissertation focussed on the government’s power to detain and deport foreign nationals on the grounds of national security. Before joining the BBC, he qualified as a lawyer, specialising in civil and criminal court work, presnting cases in Scotland’s sheriff courts, and instructing advocates in the supreme courts. He has a postgraduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism.

An experienced climber and hillwalker, Henderson contributed to The Great Outdoors Magazine (TGO), and co-wrote Philip's Guide to Mountains (editor, Ingalo Thomson, general editor, Doug Scott).
