"Rhytida meesoni meesoni" is a subspecies of small, air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Rhytididae.

Distribution

This subspecies of land snail is endemic to the South Island of New Zealand.

hell description

The shell is larger than the living adult size for "Rhytida australis", with deeper whorls, and less prominent malleanations, crossed by weak irregular axial folds and growth-lines. The shell coloration is greenish-olive, and the umbilicus does not have a brown zone. The shell diameter is up to 18 mm, and height up to 10 mm.
