"Rhytida meesoni perampla" is a subspecies of small, air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Rhytididae.

Distribution

This subspecies is endemic to the South Island of New Zealand. It is found from the Takaka Saddle down the west coast to the Mokihinui River.

hell description

The shell attains a much larger size than in the typical "meesoni" subspecies, has a smaller umbilicus, which is only one tenth the major diameter of the base. The sculpture consists of stronger, denser malleations, but the spiral striations are subobsolete. The shell diameter is up to 15 mm, and the height is up to 8 mm.
