Allithwaite is a small village, located roughly 1.2 miles from the nearby town of
Grange-over-Sands. The population is around 2000 people, most which commute to local areas of Ulverston, Kendal or Lancaster to work.

There is a small primary school, Allithwaite Primary C of E school located next to the Church. With 2 pubs and a post office. Also a large playing fields with tennis courts and a bowling green. Included in this small village is Boarbank Hall.
