Edward Mortimer

Edward Mortimer

Edward Mortimer ; Born 22 December 1943 in Burford) was until January 2007 the Director of Communications in the Executive Office of the United Nations Secretary-General. He is an author, journalist, and fellow of All Souls College Oxford.

Mortimer is now Senior Vice President of The Salzburg Global Seminar. He is married to the British artist Elizabeth Mortimer.

Before joining the United Nations he was a columnist and leader writer for the Financial Times.

His books include:

* "Faith and Power, the politics of Islam"
