Leslie Segrete

Leslie Segrete (pronounced "seh-GRET-ee") (born February 28, 1975 in Bethpage, New York [cite web|url=http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1321108/|title=IMDb entry for Leslie Segrete|accessdate=2006-10-14] ) is an American designer, seamstress, carpenter, and television personality. She is best known for her work on the TLC show "While You Were Out", which concluded a four-year run in 2006, and was a designer on Trading Spaces.

Biography

Segrete worked as the Art Director for several programs on the Oxygen channel and as Art Director for the Ricki Lake talk show.

She is a graduate of the French Culinary Institute and graduated from Hofstra University in 1997 with a B.A. in drama and a minor in anthropology. [cite web|url=http://www.lesliesegrete.com/resume.html|title=Leslie Segrete's Resume|accessdate=2006-10-14]

Current projects

Segrete now appears as a carpenter and designer on the TLC show "Trading Spaces".

Segrete currently writes monthly columns for two magazines, "do!" and "House Beautiful". She is also working on a book titled "Fear Not! You Can Reupholster Anything", due out in the spring of 2008 (Sterling Publishing). [cite web|url=http://www.lesliesegrete.com/bio.html|title=Leslie Segrete bio.|accessdate=2007-06-21] . She also co-hosts a syndicated call-in radio show on home improvement called "The Money Pit." In September, 2008, Segrete hosted "Going Green Long Island", a PBS special about anti-global warming efforts on her native Long Island, New York airing on WLIW Channel 21.
