Nizamabad (Hindi: निज़ामाबाद, Urdu: نظام آباد) is a town and a nagar panchayat in Azamgarh district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Geography
Nizamabad is located at 26°03′N 83°04′E / 26.05°N 83.06°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 72 metres (236 feet).
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Nizamabad had a population of 12,096. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Nizamabad has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 68%, and female literacy is 51%. In Nizamabad, 20% of the population is under 6 years of age. The Zamindara tribe form a large part of population of the neighbouring villages.
