Safir Bghouia

Safir Bghouia (died September 2, 2001) resident of Beziers, France of North African Muslim descent was a violent criminal with a long record. On September 2, 2001 he went on an armed rampage and attacked police and city officials with machine guns and rocket launchers, killing Jean Farrel, secretary to the mayor of Beziers. Reportedly he claimed that he was the son of Allah before he was shot dead by GIPN forces. At his home, authorities found 10 grams of dynamite, 1 RPG, a Kalashnikov assault rifle, and plastic explosives.
